Embroideries
1880's

Not sure what these were for. The edges need to be turned under and they can be hung verically or horizontally. Beautiful soft shades.

Description

Each with a flat petalled flowerhead supported by leafy acanthus leaf type stems, in thick twisted silks in ten shades of coral, salmon, tobacco, cream, aquamarine, on afine twill weave cotton ground, 12 1.2 in x 5ft 7 in/32 x 1.70 m

Condition

Slight yellow colour run in places. One end flower has five leaves which have missing silks, but not very noticeable. There are pencil lines around the perimeter of both, as if to be covered or turned in. There are also pin holes so my guess is these have been tacked up for display.
