This extra large quilt was probably made by Amme for her marriage. Bought in N Carolina at an antiques fair 20 years ago.
the centre with Amme entwined with leafy tendrils, within a circle of grapes and vine leaves, bordered by two rows (twenty five squares) of large red and forest green stylised quatra mirrored pineapples and leaves, worked in cotton applique within leaf tendrils, clam shell quilting, the border with vases of fruits.8ft or 2.45 m square.
The colours are all unfaded. There is a little fraying to the very edge on three sides. The bottom edge is fine. There are a few marks. Photos available.
