French shawl, woven on a Jacquard loom with red, pink, maroon, ochre, orange, blue, green, black and white wool and silk, with a stunning elongated arch to each end filled with gently curving pines filled with foliage, surrounded by squiggly lines, the wide side borders with more squiggles and upright pines, epaulette ends 12ft 10 x 5ft 2 in or 3.3 x 1.6 m

Comments

Not the very tightest weave but of very good quality. I think this is French rather than Paisley. The squiggly lines and aysmmetrical design are unusual.

Excellent
