'Bird' Woven Wool

A reasonable size which would look goodl framed. This fabric can be seen in Kelmscott Manor and as wall hangings in the dining room at Standen. Morris actually designed it for the drawing room at Kelmscott House, Hammersmith.

woven woollen double cloth, designed by William Morris in 1878, hand loom jacquard woven, in shades of blue and yellowy green with touches of red and beige depicting two different pairs of birds, 25 x 21 in. w (one selvedge)

Condition

Slight fading to left hand side and middle to about 13 in. in width
