This would make a lovely present for a Morris enthusiast. Obviously there are no birds on our fragment, but it is still very pleasing with its beautiful design and colours.
This fabric can be seen in Kelmscott Manor and as wall hangings in the dining room at Standen. Morris actually designed it for the drawing room at Kelmscott House, Hammersmith.
Woven woolen double cloth designed by William Morris in 1878, handloom Jacquard woven at Merton Abbey, in shaded indigo and yellow with flowers bending on stems.
