Exceptional, unusual, exotic and fabulous. A must for a shawl collector or it would look dramatic hung on a wall. There is a similar shawl in Paisley Museum. I do not have the reference number.

Description

hand block printed wool and silk shawl with exotic Indian inspired foliage and butterflies, in linear rows, alternating with more exotic foliage and flowerhead meanders, all in shades of orange, red, green, purple on a white ground, the edged and ends with epaulette borders with blocks of purple, black and red, fringing to two ends, 11 ft 3.35 m x 5 ft 5 in 1.65 m

Condition

Very good. Three tiny holes close together at one end.
