The fall front is rather decorative with its rounded corners and detail such as the stitched sides finishing in a curved decorative base, which prevented damage when opening and closing the flap.

Description

The buff coloured buckskin leather breeches with curving fall front opening secured with two brass coloured buttons, the sides of the fall front with decorative and strengthening seams with a curved base, opening to reveal a flap with two buttons (different sizes), the back waist with more brass coloured buttons, central waist V with buckskin tie, the legs with three buttons and buttonholes, above a further five brass coloured buttons,slightly shaped with ties.

Condition

Overall they look good.  There is some slight dark markings overall.  The right side has some yellowish markings, the back seat area the same.  There are a few insect holes, but they have only scraped the surface. The legs have extraordinary rounded onyx type buttons which are later and could easily be removed. There is one brass button missing from one leg. The button from inside the flap could be used. There is a rectangular stamp inside the breeches but the name cannot be read.
