Condition

Delicious colouring and fabric. No underarm staining and in remarkable condition. The bodice is quite clear of stains and markings. The back bodice is slightly darker cream silk, no idea why. The skirt is very good with just a light brown marking here and there. The skirt would originally have been a separate petticoat, perhaps with this fabric at the front and plain at the back. At some time the skirt has been altered, possibly in the 19thc. for fancy dress.
