Delightful pieces probably from a gown. I have included these in European silks because they appealed to, and were produced for Western taste.
d. The top piece. A small bird perched on a leafy brach surrounded by small and large flowers on leafy stems in green, blue, deep pink, puce, brown pigments on an ivory finely woven taffetta silk ground, 18 x 43 cm; 7 x 16 in.
e. The Lower piece. A small butterfly hovers near some blossoms, with other exotic flowers on leafy stems, in yellow, deep pink, puce, blue and green pigments, 30 cm; 12 in top length.
Both have slight wear to the pigments. The lower panel has a grubby horizontal mark through the middle.
