Beautiful colours and pleasing design. This has been professionally cleaned, hand stitched to calico and mounted onto acid free board, ready for framing.
Condition
The colours are good and strong. The background green has slight discolouration to the bottom right hand corner where it was covered by a frame. Likewise if framed this would again be covered. In places cream silks have been used instead of the green. Either this was because the embroideress ran out of the green or the colour in that particular dye batch has faded. Nearly every Morris & Co embroidery I have ever had has been the same. What is odd is that is is always the background silks and never the ones used for the main motifs, which makes me feel that it is the former explanation.
