Eton Rural Fabrics
1920-36

This range of fabrics was produced from the early 1920's until 1936 when strong colours, bold shapes and painterly designs  were so fashionable for furnishing fabrics.

Originally known as Eton Rural Cretonnes,  in 1922 the company became Eton Rural Fabrics, and in 1936 Sanderson Fabrics. Arthur Sanderson & Sons, already a leading wallpaper manufacturer, began producing fabrics in 1921.

This length could be used for a wall hanging and would look stunning.

Description

Tulips and Daffodils. the selvedges with ERF Rd No 178930 Made in England, screen printed with a painterly design of sprays of tulips in cerise, purple, apricot and white and white dafodils with cerise, green and soft brown centres, with green/blue leaves, on a soft ochre and brown ground, repeat 18 in; 46 cm; width 32 in/81 cm selvedge to selvedge; length 6ft 3 in/1.90 m.

Condition

Very very good. The top has been folded over and machined, so when unpicked I doubt whether the line would come out. I have therefore measured from below the machining.
