Comments

One of my clients has suggested the above maker for the shawl. Another has suggested to me that the initital is not an L but an Arabic or Persian inscription. In Arabic script "ab" read right to left, or possibly "ap" if Persian, and the rather large triangular dot under the letter "b" is in fact three dotes together, which would turn into into a "p", a letter not used in Arabic, but in Persian and Urdu..... Perhaps this is a shawl maker giving an oreintalist flavour to his work. Thanks for this intriguing info.

Condition

This shawl is of medium quality and is soft and pliable. The centre has several darns. Ask for more photos if you cannot see. There are about 6 holes to the borders, which can only be seen when the shawl is held to the light.
