Sayonne Cosy Cover
c 1900

This Glasgow School of Art style teacosy was called the Sayonne Cosy Cover and illustrated in Needlecraft Monthly Magazine for February 1909.* The design and colours  are typical for the GSA but also the Suffragates!

Description

the three stylised flowerhead roundels with pairs of leaves beside punctuated lines, a similar row above, embrodered in thick floss silks in mauve, and two shades of green, on a white linen ground, using stem stitch, a frill to the curving edge, the base edged with pale green cotton, attached with drawn threadwork, 19 in; 47 cm wide.

Condition

Very good condition. Not faded. Probably do with a good wash!
