Very nice colours and design. This type of shawl was made from yardage, with no side borders. They just cut the fabric and fringed the ends. A good to wear shawl.
The large rectangular shawl with a repeat pine motif 7 in/18 cm high, in scarlet with blue, ochre, pink, green and black on an ivory wool and silk mix ground, the piens with hatching to imitate a weave effect, fringe to to ends, 12 ft x 6 ft/ 3.55 x 1.83 m
One end has a 4 in/10 cm tear. This could be easily supported underneath with tape/fabric. The other end has a smaller bite from the side near the fringe.
