of a lion and lioness? at play, basically showing the loosely woven linen ground with the animals eyes embroidered, the main and details couched with silver wrapped silk, 3 1/2 in or 8 cm high

Instead of embroidering it appears to have little shaped black fabric? put behind the linen to give a three dimensional shaded effect to the animals skin. We have had this hand stitched to old linen, stretched over acid free board and taped, ready for a frame. A little gem for your wall. However, there is a slight mark to top left hand corner of the linen we have used. Once framed this would hardly notice.
