Great fun. These would originally have been appliqued to a backing cloth, perhaps for a pageant. The gold really glints. I am selling the four together.
the two larger lions with extended tongues and crowns on their heads, woven in gold and cotton and printed with detailing, 17 in; 44 cm, the smaller lions similar, 11 in; 28 cm, glued onto a backing paper.
You should be able to see the edges are a litle raw but quite secure. The yellow silk needs to come out and I have now unpicked it.
