wool and silk large rectangular shawl with ivory centre, the 9 in; 24 cm deep borders woven with slender upright pines, with bending tips infilled and surrounded by small flowerheads and narrow pines, the top with an arcaded design, all in blue, green and red, narrow side borders, 10 ft 6 in x 5 ft 2 in; 3.20 x 1.55 m

Comments

A collectors shawl. Good to buy an early woven shawl, which are difficult to find.

Condition

The ends are fine. The central field has some feint markings and there are two holes , recently conserved, one is 2 1/2 long extending to 1 in and the other is a 1 1/2 in L shape.
