Yellow muga silk from Dacca, Bengal, India was a very popular colour in the early 18th century. This small fragment would be lovely framed. I have other fragments similar.
the natural linen embroidered in bright yellow and terracotta twisted silks, with a large flowerhead, with three dimensional stamens, leaves and smaller flowers, on a linen ground worked in muga silk in back stitch with small scrolls.
5x 6 1/2 in/ 12 x 17 cm
Very good. Notice the diagonal join across the top left hand corner.
