Comments
Marcella quilting was machine loom woven , with patterns made to resemble hand quilting. It was used to make bedcovers, but also waistcoats, pockets etc. It could be bought by the yard for making up at home. See: Quilting by Averil Colby (Batsford 1972 p 149) Purpose made as pockets but it is curious that each is different although I am sure the waistband is original, so the pockets are original to the band. White is always impossible to photograph but hope you get a good idea from the close ups.
