Comments

Fabulous design and colours. Fantastic technique and I?m not sure how it is done. When you look inside the silks are worked in a honeycomb type design. The little spikes remind me of those little iced biscuits we ate as children. This reticule was in the collection of Emma-Henrietta Schiff von Suvero (1863-1924). Fifteen years after her death the pieces were ?sold? to the Staatliche Kunstgewerbemuseum, Vienna, Austria in August 1939. The Museum now known as the Museum fur Angewandte Kunst (MAK) displayed and stored the items until they were rightfully restituted by the Austrian Government to the descendants of Emma-Henrietta in Spring 2003. This reticule has a label rev 1948, 28.9.32 and T8909.
