Of a young woman gazing at a rose she had just cut from a bush, the woman wearing a black silk broad brimmed hat with silk ribbon, an open robe with vandyked collar, a matching petticoat and apron, all in shades of cream, beige, soft ochre with black shoes, a rose bush, and behind her a fence and large shrubs, worked interestingly in a variety of stitches, in shades of soft yellow through green with black highlighting, her face and the sky painted, original gold frame and glass, 11 x 8 ? in. w.

Lovely picture in very good condition. It is getting almost impossible to buy these pictures without any damage to the sky.The frame is not perfect and has lost pieces from the outer rim, which have been later moulded and re gilded.
