I have two pairs of tassels which originally came from Waddesden Manor, Buckinghamshire. Fantastic quality.
These are very heavy so you would need a substantial pair of curtains if used as tie backs.
The twisted rope with alternating lengths of shaded red and pink, blue and old gold silk, worked either as horizontal stripes or of a knotted silk strands and plain old gold wrapped round a core fabric, two enormous tassels to each end, comprising silk covered wooden spherical shapeswith cross banded ribbons, culinating in rosettes above long tassels, some of chenille and some of openwork flowers.
The actuall tassel with the little row of rosettes 10 in; 26 cm
Unused. They are still tied with a piece of linen thread.
