Comments

Unusual subject matter. The two series of 7 doors refer to the Qur'an where Allah says Hell has 7 doors and heaven 7. These cloths were made to be draped over the head and around the body and were used as dowry textiles. See: Beste M Phulkari and Bagh from the Punjab Hali. issue 113, p 87

Condition

Some of the floss silks are a little worn.
