Comments
Beautiful colouring. Good quality pashmina. This is slightly softer than no 9. I've realised we have omitted to put any photos of the whole shawl on the site. Please ask for these.
Condition
The end borders are in very good condition. The side borders also. In a couple of place the border has come away from the main body of the shawl so needs a couple of stitches. There is a 1 in. slit to centre fold. Also a 1/2 in slit ; and a 1/4 in. hole together. There are a few more very small holes, some in groups. There are five very old and finely worked darns, mainly in the form of crosses, the largest 3 in. These have been worked in pashmina so one can only conclude that the owner was a European living in Indian. Photos available of course.
