Kashmir Stole
1830s

This elegant stole is the perfect size to wear. Would be good for a re-enactor.

Description

The crimson pashmina ground hand loom woven in a herringbone weave, the tightly woven end borders with a band of pairs of gently curving elegant narrow botehs flanking cypress trees, on a stylised flower ground, between borders of repeat flowerheads, the inner border to ends and sides with small slanting pines and foliage, the corners with a similar woven boteh, short fringed ends.

7 ft x 3ft 3 in; 2.1 x 1 m

Condition

Fantastic. Clean and crisp, feels good. One pinhead size hole to one end border. The other end has an incredible darn 1.5 x 5 cm above the border to the other end. You really have to look hard to find it, a good example of invisible mending. There are a few pinhead holes. Ask for photos.
