day wear dress, the cream ground with a minute vermiculated background with three tiered brown stylised flowerheads and dark brown rosehips, simple large gathered neck with linen tape ties, 4 in; 10 cm slit front, three corded rows down the elbow length sleeves, the sides with slits (for access to pockets) the back with typical diamond shape seaming, a waistband tie attached central back on high waistline, the skirt with tight gathering centre back, inside bodice lined with linen and with bosom protector flaps gathered at the top, a bustle pad attached,


Condition


There is a light staining at right hand side of the skirt half way down approx 5 x 6 in. Another 3 in; 8 cm square to the left hand side. A conservator could possibly remove these. There are other small areas of slight staining. Ask for condition report. The back bodice has a little staining and the skirt has some. There are also some brighter ochre markings to the back.
