Yellow Jacket
Late 19th c

Delightful jacket. The quality of couched dragons is not the best quality but the embroidery is wll worked.

Cataloguing

for a young man, the yellow silk damask woven with peonies, butterflies and symbols, including goldfish, couched with a full faced dragon front and back and two on the shoulders, surrounded by embroidered clouds, symbols and peonies worked in Peking Knots, all above a shallow lishui wave border with waves filled with further peonies, front opening with round buttons, unlined, length 20 in; 50 cm

Condition

Very good apart from the top two loops, for securing the buttons being broken. We could repair these if you wished. Some of the gold couching is slightly lifting. This would need a few stitches. Becuase the jacket is unlined this would be very easy.
