See: Higgins, Paula and Blaser, Lori A Passion for Purses p 253. These are known to have been made in the late 18th and early 19th century for the European and American export market. In the book the authors say that most of this type of bag have basket bottoms, so this example is more unusual.

made in the Phillipines from pineapple fibre knitted in vertical linear design, one line loose knitted alternating with a close knitted line then embroidered with two different designs of flower sprays, using pale pink, cream, green and mauve, the top of bobbin lace, two short tassels at either side, drawstring closure with two large tassels, 12 x 12 in or 30 x 30 cm.

Condition

Very good. The colours are as pale inside as out. Perhaps the mauve has slightly faded overall.
