panel, part of a bed hanging valance, the natural linen ground embroidered with flowerheads including roses, pinks (carnations), honeysuckle within coiled tendrils, all in shades of red, pink, yellow, blue and green crewel wools, a wool fringe with spotted upper border, 9 1/2 x 23 in or 24 x 53 cm wide
Condition
Very good. There are small areas where the wool embroidery has come away, which you should see from the photos.

Would look good mounted (we can do this for you) and framed. There is a similar piece which is a pillow cover in the V & A. See Nevinson, John L Catalogue of English Domestic Embroidery p 18 plate XIII.
