The centre has a very similar pine design to no 22 , p 73 The Norwich Shawlsee Bibliography. Norwich Museum no 120.988. The thicker border would have prevented the delicate shawl from tearing.
Cataloguing
of Norwich, black closely woven twilled leno or gauze silk shawl resist printed with compact pines in staggered rows, each row facing the opposite direction, the pines filled with leaves and flowers in burnt orange, pink, delphinium blue and mid green on ivory ground, the edges with wide band of ribbed weaving, 11ft 6 in x 5ft 9 in or 3.45 x 1.75 m, twisted silk and knotted fringing to two ends.
