Beautiful. I love these subtle damasks shawls. Imagine how they looked when worn with the light playing on the colours.
There is reference to copies of damask shawls (1805 onwards) inPaisley Shawls the catalogue produced by Paisley Museum in 1966.
Cataloguing
damask with large repeating sprays of stylised flowers, 12 in or 30 cm high, one side with bronze flowres on a shot blue and bronze ground, the reverse with blue flowers on a bronze/blue ground, twill weave, 66 in or 1.4 m square,short fringe.
