Mink Brown Woven
c 1810

The brown glace kid shoes, also in this section, would of course go perfectly with this dress.

Cataloguing

silk with a small diaper design, the bodice with pleating from shoulders slanting towards the raised waistband, the sleeves gently tapering to cuff with bands edged with rouleau trim, hand embroidered circular holes for fastening with hooks, the skirt with padded and raised decorative bands interspersed with three rows of rouleau trimmed satin, shoulder to hem 4 ft or 1.22 m

Condition

The colour is more of a mink brown pinky shade than the slightly darker tone in the photos.

There is discolouration under both arms. Ask for photos. The back waistband has a little discolouration and there is one mark on the back bodice similar, all very feint. There is a 1 inch or 3 cm split at back opening. The reverse of one sleeve has a small hole and slight mark. The lower front right hand side of the skirt has some lighter spotting. Photos available.

I am not sure if the drawstring at neckline is original. One of the hooks at cuff may be original.
