Damask Shot Silk Square
1815-20

Glorious iridescent colours.

Cataloguing

the centre field with large stylised sprigged flowers between trellising, in shades of mid-blue and pink, the border of bronze, green and yellow woven with flowers and leaves between white, yellow, terracotta and blue stripes, fringe to all sides, 4ft 8 in or 1.4 m square.

Condition

There is a 20 cm circumference stain to centre field but because of the iridescent shot silk look it hardly shows, only if you look really hard. Otherwise there is the odd little parting of the weft threads but incredibly minor.
