Shawl Border
1810-15

Beautiful colours.  We have sewn this piece to cotton and mounted on a stretcher. It is ready to hang or put behind perspex. Would make a very nice Christmas present.

Cataloguing

The twill weave crimson ground woven with five upright botehs with gently turning tips and with ribbons hanging from their bases, in indigo, seagreen and ivory pashmina, within ovals, surrounded by small flowerheads on a ochre ground, the top with a guard stripe, 11 x 27 in; 28 x 68 cm.

Condition

Very good. There is the odd hole which we have mended. The border looks very good indeed.

Comments

The Kashmir Shawl Frank Ames. I can't find any botehs with ribbons but there are some with bows plate 186.
