Ottoman Export Children's Shoes
mid 19th c

Ottoman and Persian arts were revived during the Crimean War (1854-56) when Western Europe supported the Ottoman Turks. Perhaps these were made at that period for the export market. There is no left or right sole


Cataloguing

the dark green leather with silver gilt wire stylised flower and branches to the front below a small lighter green silk pompom,lined with natural coloured cotton, hand stitched leather soles, 17 cm; 6 3/4 in long.


Condition

Very good. Unworn. There is no wear to the soles.
