Morris Tulip & Rose
1876

Tulip and Rose was designed by William Morris and registered on 20 January 1876.

Cataloguing

The thick 3 ply woven wool and linen has terracotta roses and full blown tulips in shaded pale blue with some smaller ochre half tulips, all on an indigo background.



6ft 8 in x 30 in; 1.90 x 69 cm;



Repeat 27 1/2 in; 70 cm.  There are 2 1/2 repeats.


Condition

Would be fine to cut and cover a chair as it is not perfect.You should be able to see the right hand side has some damage. This measures 12 in; 30 cm long. On the reverse there is a patch. See photos. Also the top 4 in; 10 cm is slightly pulled.
