petticoat with an inside back label McLintocks, Purified Russian Down Petticoat No 8- 38 inches, the roller printed cotton in stripes of slanting overlapping pines alternating with narrower stripes of stylsied flower heads, all in scarlet, yellow, lime green, mid blue and maroon, the waistband with two holes for the drawstring, a bright red wool dust gathering braid at the hem, lined with bright red cotton and filled with down, ungathered waist 46 in or1.10 m 32 in or 80 cm drop

Stunning Shawl - c 1860

twill tapestry woven in several pieces, with a rectangle of creamy white continuous and repeat leaf stem, containing elongated elegant pines covering half the shawl, their spikey fronds emerging into a black pashmina centre, each end with a black cypress tree flanked by the bases of the elongated botehs and exotic blooms rising within mehrabs, a wide border of upright exotic foliage and curling botehs narrow guard stripes and an outer border of upright leafy foliage, each end with embroidered epaulette borders with a green meandering river, using red, mid green and blue, turquoise and pink, saffron, black and creamy white, 12ft x 4ft 7 in or 3.6 x 1.4 m

Dutch Darning Sampler - Early 19th c

worked by Geer Truida Kruyt with the alphabet worked in twisted silks in mid green silks, above two rows of yellow silk fine darns with cross darns in shades of deep pink, beige, pink, green and blue silks, filled with different patterns including trellis, zig=zags and diagonal lines, her name at the bottom in brown silks, all on a linen ground, 19 x 15 1/2 in or 48 x 40 cm drop.

French? Shawl - 1840's

the ivory silk centre with woven wool and silk pines in the spandrels filled with stylised flowers and leaf branches on a background colour of pale blue, green or yellow, flanked by C scrolls, within a narrow border of small slanting pines, the deep woven end borders filled with elegant upright pines with gently bending tips, similarly designed with alternating background colours of soft green, blue and yellow, the narrow side borders similar worked, the fringed ends hand sewn, 10ft 2 in x 4ft 7 in or 3.1 x 1.4 m

Rare Dated Norfolk Blanket - c 1800

hand woven cream wool, each end with two blue stripes, one end with 1800 embroidered in pink eyelet stitch, the other with the embroideress initials MS and then another S below, the four corners with remnants of embroidered wool flower sprays in ochre, yellow and white, 6ft 10 in x 5ft 7 in or 2.09 x 1.70 m, weighs 990 gm

American Marriage Quilt - 1840-60

the centre with Amme entwined with leafy tendrils, within a circle of grapes and vine leaves, bordered by two rows (twenty five squares) of large red and forest green stylised quatra mirrored pineapples and leaves, worked in cotton applique within leaf tendrils, clam shell quilting, the border with vases of fruits.8ft or 2.45 m square.

of elongated shape with rounded lower ends, natural cotton with narrow waistband, linen tape ties, 17 x 9 in or 44 x 23 cm widest.

panel, part of a bed hanging valance, the natural linen ground embroidered with flowerheads including roses, pinks (carnations), honeysuckle within coiled tendrils, all in shades of red, pink, yellow, blue and green crewel wools, a wool fringe with spotted upper border, 9 1/2 x 23 in or 24 x 53 cm wide

of rectangular shape woven on a Jacquard loom, with double scarlet and green panels surrounding a lobed medallion, each end with elongated pines and exotic Eastern foliage all in scarlet, green, pink, white, mid blue, brown and gold wool and silk, 11ft 2 in x 5ft 3 in or 3.4 x1.6 m

Printed Spencer - 1820's

the mid green gound printed with a swirling ribbon in red with yellow dots, small red, yellow, blue and white flower buds on a ground with small red leaves, the front with narrow frilled closure, three straight darts to the bosom area, elaborate double frilled neck, long sleeves with cuff straps and hooks and eyes, the back with deep inset sleeves, a row of six golden yellow embroidered buttons holding the waistband tie in place, the skrit pleated, lined in coarse linen with bodice closure.

Quilted/ Crewel Skirt - Early 18th c

possibly American, unpicked, the top half of cream twill weave wool and linen/cotton (fustian) mix, all quilted, the lower width of coarser wool embroidered in wools with upright flowers including tulips, gilly and pinks, the border with a flower and leaf meander, all in clear shades of crimson, pink, yellow, lime and dark green, mid and dark blue wools, the embroidered section is shell quilted, edged with cream linen braid, 33 x 7 ft 3 in or 83 x 2.2 m wide

Trapunto Baby Cap - Early 18th c

the cap made in three sections, each with a large vase with three flowers, all in fine drawnwork and trapunto cording on a fine linen ground, lined with looser woven linen, the very edge of plain linen with a drawstring cord.

Freisan Sampler unfinished - 1741

the first Anno 1741 with a house with veranda or fencing flanked by a tree, windmill and a vase of flowers,a secondary row of vases of flowers, below two alphabets and numbers, all within a flower and stem meander border, all in shades of green, blue, yellow and brown silks all worked in cross stitch, on a natural linen ground, 10 x 11 1/2 in or 26 x 29 cm.

Dutch Silk Caracao - 1770's

woven with pale green stripes with a minute pattern alternating with ivory stripe woven with brown stylised flower pattern, the front with robings and a stomacher comprising of a double fastening in two sizes, brass hooks and eyes the elbow length sleeves with triple pleating shaped for elbow, the back with squarish neck and with robings shaped into the V waist, the skirt with deep pleats, lined with loose weave cotton, shoulder to hem 20 in or 50 cm; bust approximately 34 in or 87 cm.
