Now I do not know if this was produced in Cordoba, Spain, but it is the sort of leather they were making from the 17th century. There was again a vogue for leather on dining room walls in the 19th century. This has a Puginesque look to my eye.
Stiff leather stamped with large repeat in red, gold and silver, 40 x 13 3/4 in; 1 m x 35 cm widest
You should be able to see the horizontal tear and the damage to the sides. I can provide detailed photos.
