Rare Norwich Worsted

Norwich, England was famous for its woven textiles produced from local sheep.  This type of cloth called Camlet, was woven in the small town of Worsted 13 miles (21 km) north of Norwich. The cloth was calendered (glazed) to resist dirt.

Great colour and weave. Unwashed and still has the glaze.

Description

A length of vermillion glazed worsted wool.

Width 27 in; 68.5 cm selvedge to selvedge

Length 2ft; 60 cm

 

 

 

Condition

Few moth holes but basically in fantastic condition.
