Printed Curtains
1860s

It's so unusual to find some really long period curtains in good condition. These are really wonderful and highly useable. The backing cotton is also lovely. These are highly glazed indicating they has never been cleaned or washed. Cotton was calendered or glazed for furnishing textiles. The fabric is passed between calender rollers at high temperatures and pressures to create the glaze, which repels dust. Popular for blinds and curtains.
