The vermiculated design was very popular at this time as was the use of yellow muga silk from India.
the fine linen ground embroidered with slips of birds on boughs, pinks (carnations) in Oriental style vases, flowers growing from hillocks and leaf and flower sprigs, all in shades of yellow, apricot and green twisted silks worked in chain stitch with some French knots, the ground worked with beige tussore silk in back stitch, 20in x 3 ft drop / 50 x 90 cm
Very good. The background is slightly discoloured from exposure to daylight, but the motifs are not faded.
