North Syrian or Gaziantep red silk man's head shawl. This would be lovely to wear.
The scarlet silk woven with a central gold elongated diamond with stepped decoration, smaller but similar motifs to the four corners, edged with a maroon silk band, the ends with wide and narrower stripes, edged with decorative fringing.
5ft 9 in x 3ft 8 in; 1.75 x 1.12 m wide
There are a couple of very slight marks to the areas near the lower left and right hand motifs.
