A very nice quality border with a hooked vine design.  The shawl must have been stunning. This has been cleaned and belonged to a collector. This shawl end weighs 461 gm showing what a good quality shawl it was.

 

Description

The seven upright botehs with gently curving feathered tips, superimposed with a network of trailing vines emerging from central mounds, the botehs filled with and surrounded by small flowerheads, all between guard stripes with flower filled interlocking meanders, the upper and lower border similarly designed but with slanting botehs, two borders to left and right hand outer edge, all woven in red, yellow and blue on a natural pashmina ground.

34 in x 5ft ; 88 x 1.5 m wide

Condition

The top borders has two very small holes and another to centre.These could easily be repaired. The ouoter edges where the shawl has been cut are a little nibbled in places. Ask for photos. We can tidy these up for you.
