Strangely the early 19th century blue striped dress fabric printed border looks very good with the 18th century embroidered centre producing a really charming small hanging.
the natural cotton twill weave ground embroidered with a variety of bright flowers, including a jonquil, with a variety of striped leaves, in shades of red, blue, yellow, green, the border with a vermiculated pattern alterating on blue and buff stripes, edged with a cotton fringing, 39 x 31 in or 1m x 80 cm
There are some light brown stains to the crewel wool work backing round the edges, which you should be able to see from the photos, but do ask for more photos. The left hand side of the fringing also has the same staining. Almost like a damp stain. The fringing could be removed and the piece framed.
