Designed by William Morris and registered 2 September 1883. This was the first Morris design named after a Thames tributary and was printed at Merton Abbey. This would look very good mounted on a stretcher to hang.
The indigo discharged ground hand block printed with a diagonal design of sunflowers, carnations, tulips and other flowers, in red, pink, palest yellow, light blue and green.
20 x 36 in; 50 x 90 cm selvedge to selvedge.
Repeat 21 x 9 in; 53.5 x 22.5 cm.
Very good. The plain blue selvedges are there but these have been cut and have frayed a little. This is just short of a full rrepeat.
