Long Caracao

The wonderful fabric was printed in Alsace but made up in The Netherlands. The linen check lining is Harlinger Bont from Harlingen.
Cataloguing
The fabric hand block printed linen in an indigo resist print, with sprays of madder, aubergine, light blue and buff flowers tied with ribbons.
The caracao with deep neck, slightly squared at the back, front opening with hooks and eyes, the elbow length sleeves with stiffened shaped curved cuffs, the back with central seam the very full skirt with pleated back, the lining of brown, black and cream stripes and checks.
Back shoulder to hem 33 in; 86 cm
Condition
The fabric was originally glazed but now there is only slight sheen indicating washing. Little damage under one arm and a few small holes to the front pleat going to the skirt. As you look at the caracao there is an inset piece in the left hand front shoulder.
