Crewel Woolwork Panel
c 1930

Panel A from a screen. Very nice quality embroidery and in about twenty-five good colours. The peacock tail is marvellous. Could look good as a hanging, with edges turned under and with velcro sewn to the top back for hanging. Talk to me about this. Or be good to reproduce as an embroidery kit.

Cataloguing

A peacock sitting on a branch sporting different exotic flowers and leaves, using bright clear but softer crewel wool colours in red, mauve, pink, blue, yellow, green, brown, ochre on a linen ground.

38 x 18 in / 97 x 46cm.

Condition

The top left hand corner has some slight discolouration to the ground linen. Perhaps it got wet. I think if this was used as a hanging, it really would not show.
