Spitalfields Apricot/Gold
1760-70

This length is of the most beautiful apricot silk woven with gold coloured mendering trails. Imagine the dress worn by candlelight. I have five lengths in all.



 


Cataloguing

With small bunches of flowers alternating in pink/red and pinky rust,apricot, laying on a ivory striped ground with two different bands of stripes, a gold flower and leaf meander between the bunches.

Very good condition. 



B - The top 3 cm has a horizontal join (original)but could be removed.



D - The top 2 cm has a horizontal join (original) but could be removed.



Remember this type of silk was expensive and every piece was used, so you often get joins in dresses.
