Tulip & Rose - B
1876
Tulip and Rose was designed by William Morris and registered on 20 January 1876.
This length is twinned with A and could be used for curtains, perhaps applied to indigo dyedlinen or as a pair of hangings. It is also strong enough for upholstery. We can prepare these for you to hang from a batten on the wall.
Cataloguing
The thick 3 ply woven wool and linen has terracotta roses and full blown tulips in shaded pale blue with some smaller ochre half tulips, all on an indigo background.
6ft 5 in x 30in; 195 cm x 72 cm selvedge to selvedge.
Repeat 27 1/2 in; 70 cm. There are 2 repeats.
Condition
Basically very sound with little fading to the outer terracotta half flowers on the selvedges. I don't like clients to get any suprises so have detailed wear as below.
12 cm down from the top are two rows of machine stitching holes. 135 cm down on the left hand side the selvedge is a little worn.
