Persian Weave
Mid19th century

This lovely piece is made from a hand woven twill weave length often used for men's coats in Persia, with the typical boteh motif. Could now be used for a small table cover.  


Cataloguing

Tightly woven with a repeating motif of botehs or pines in pink, red, green, blue, orange, black and white, the border applied with silver wrapped round a silk core braid and fringing, backed by emerald green twill weave silk.

The pines are 7 in; 17 cm high.
